
OSWEGO — Women’s Basketball beats the Morrisville Mustangs in the consolation game of the Max Ziel Women’s Basketball Tournament with a final score of 77-62. Senior Sydni Eure who tallied 27 points en route to the win. Ramatoulaye Sy would also net 27 points and tally 2 blocks. Oswego would secure the lead in the second quarter as they outscored the Mustangs 16-7. The Lakers move forward with an overall record of 1-2 and welcome SUNY Canton into the Max Ziel Gymnasium on Wednesday. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. and can be found right here on WTOP 10.

Women’s Basketball Season comes to an end against Brockport

OSWEGO, NY — Women’s Basketball played their final game of the season this past Saturday as the Lakers faced off against Brockport. The SUNYAC match up featured the Golden Eagles taking the victory 81-73. The two teams would only be separated by three points heading into the second quarter, but Brockport would start to pull away as the second half approached. Quincey Zimmerman was one of four Lakers to put up double digits in the points column as she led the team with 21 points scored. This loss puts the Lakers at 6-18 and only 2-16 in conference play. The team failed to make the SUNYAC playoffs as the group finished on a 14 game losing streak.

Oswego mens lacrosse wins big this weekend
MORRISVILLE N.Y. — It was a big weekend for the mens lacrosse team as they took on SUNY Morrisville in an intense matchup. The two teams battled it out but in the end the lakers found a way to leave with the dub. Morrisville went up early and the Lakers refused to back down early. Senior Weston Grey was a monster scoring four goals to contribute big time in the teams victory. Gray was a madman and now has seven goals this season. Sophomore Gavin Elston and junior Jack Delany both had two goals a piece. Although Morrisville came back in the fourth to make it a two point game, Weston Grey put the nail in the coffin scoring the last goal of the contest. Men’s Lacrosse stays undefeated with win over Alfred

ALFRED, NY — The Men’s Lacrosse team improves to 2-0 on the season as the group picked up a thrilling road win against Alfred Wednesday afternoon. The 12-11 victory keeps the Lakers undefeated as the team took a 3-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Saxons would try to make it interesting in the third quarter as the home team buried 4 goals on the Lakers, but Oswego would come away with the victory at the end of regulation. The Lakers were led by Weston Gray would have a five point game as the sophomore had three goals and two assists. Jack Delany also netted three goals for Oswego and Liam Dollard had a three point performance. Goaltender Kevin O’Donnell would make 10 saves in the victory.
The Lakers return home as the group prepares for a Tuesday afternoon match up in Potsdam, New York to face off against Clarkson. The undefeated Knights face off against the Rochester Institute of Technology this Saturday for their first conference match up of the season. Oswego will face the Knights at 4 p.m. up in North Country.
