OSWEGO, NY — Women’s Hockey started back up yesterday with a decisive win over King’s College in the Marano Campus Center. The 9-0 victory was only the second time the two teams have met, as the Monarchs program began in the 2017-18 season. Sophomore Sara Cruise led the way for the Lakers as she tallied three goals for her first collegiate hat trick in only her fourth game of the season. Megan Teachout and Morgan Shines both recorded five points, each with two goals and three assists. The two freshman have been great additions to the team, as both have over 10 points through 12 games played. Senior Rachel Farmer faced seven shots and recorded her fourth collegiate shutout as she led Oswego between the pipes.
Oswego is still slotted in second in the NEWHL standings behind the Plattsburgh Cardinals, who are ranked number one in the USCHO poll. The 8-3-1 Lakers travel to Morrisville on Saturday for their first conference match up in over a month, puck drop is set for 3 p.m. in the Morrisville Iceplex.
