OSWEGO, NY — #15 Men’s Hockey welcomed in #7 Utica College Friday night for another nationally ranked match up, which is the second in as many games for the Lakers. The Pioneers would win 4-3 in a tight match up which featured freshman Alex DiCarlo tallying two assists and captain Josh Zizek tying the game halfway through the third period. Senior Cedric Hansen would give up the go ahead goal but played strong after reliving starter David Richer in the first stanza of the second period. This is Oswego’s fourth lost to nationally ranked opponents as the move forward with an overall record of 7-6. The Lakers are set to play the Elmira College at 7 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center.

Oswego Soccer losses in tight game against SUNY Plattsburgh
OSWEGO — Oswego Women’s Soccer took a tough loss to SUNY Plattsburgh Saturday afternoon in a 1-0 score line. Plattsburgh scored within the first ten minutes of the game. Towards the end of the first half, goalkeeper Emma Allen got caught up in a collision and was relieved by Sophia Portalatin, the back up for the Lakers. The defense would aid Portalatin in keeping the Cardinals scoreless in the remainder of the match up. Oswego would tally six shot attempts overall, all coming in the second stanza. The team will host SUNY Fredonia next Friday night to start off the final weekend of the regular season. Kick off will be at 3 p.m. at Laker Stadium.

Oswego womens soccer continues to dominate with win over Potsdam
OSWEGO, N.Y. – It was another day at the office for the Lakers as they tool it to the Potsdam Bears from start to finish. The Lakers came out swinging early and did not take their foot off the gas the whole game. Freshman Briana Winkler put the Lakers on the board early as she has made a huge impact on the team in her first year as a Laker. From there it was a bit of a back and forth battle until the end of the half. The second half is where things picked up for the Lakers as Katie Delgrosso put the Lakers up 2-0. With five goals on the season already, Delgrosso has been on an absolute tear. Potsdam just couldn’t do anything to halt the Lakers momentum as Lexi Thompson scored the third and final goal of the game for the Lakers, putting the contest away. The Lakers outshot the Bears 17-6 putting on an offensive clinic. The Lakers look to keep the hot streak rolling as they travel to Geneseo to take on the nights in a SUNYAC matchup this Wednesday. Women’s Hockey Preview versus conference rivals Cortland
OSWEGO — Women’s Hockey returns home tomorrow night to battle with the Cortland Red dragons, who sits in second in the NEWHL. Cortland, who is coming off a weekend sweep at Lebanon Valley, travels back into the Marano Campus Center after tying the Lakers three weeks back. Oswego looks to continue their conference successes as the group were victorious in Potsdam two weeks ago. Their success has recently come from their special team opportunities as the team has tallied ten power play goals in eight games against conference opponents. Senior Eryn Stewart and junior Amber Thomas have both been key for Oswego’s offensive performance as both forwards have reached double digits in points only eight games into the campaign. Goaltender Rachael Farmer continues to lead the back end posting a .903 save percentage in her seven games played. The fourth place Oswego team will match up with the Cortland at 7 p.m. which is also their annual Hats, Mittens, & Coats Drive.
