OSWEGO, NY — Thursday evening, the Oswego Boys Buccaneers Hockey team took on the Skaneateles Lakers inside the Crisafulli Ice Rink. The Section III matchup featured two teams in division two that were used to seeing each other during a season. Both groups have seen each other before as Oswego kicked off their season on the road in Skaneateles. The Bucs would fall to the Lakers 7-2 but would-be prepared heading into this contest after coming off a win the night before against Auburn.
The Lakers would open the scoring in the first period after Luke Renaud would tally his first goal of the contest. He would add another to his season total later in the game. Oswego would trail 1-0 heading into the second period as Brayden Demling had a strong performance in net to keep the contest within one goal. He would have a total of 31 saves in the contest and play all 45 minutes in between the pipes for the Buccaneers.
In the second stanza, the Lakers would start to extend their lead as the team would add three more goals. Oswego would answer in the third period with a Collin Cianfarano goal that was assisted by Marcus Baker and Brayden Miller. This tally would be the Bucs only goal of the evening as the Lakers would continue their dominance in the final stanza with three more goals to add to their total. Skaneateles netminder Adam Casper would make 13 saves in route to the victory.
Skaneateles extends their win streak to 48 and stays undefeated on the season. Oswego will take the weekend off and reset for another match up next Tuesday against the Ontario Bay Storm. The last time these two teams met was earlier on in the season, with Oswego coming away with a 5-0 win. Oswego womens soccer continues to dominate with win over Potsdam
OSWEGO, N.Y. – It was another day at the office for the Lakers as they tool it to the Potsdam Bears from start to finish. The Lakers came out swinging early and did not take their foot off the gas the whole game. Freshman Briana Winkler put the Lakers on the board early as she has made a huge impact on the team in her first year as a Laker. From there it was a bit of a back and forth battle until the end of the half. The second half is where things picked up for the Lakers as Katie Delgrosso put the Lakers up 2-0. With five goals on the season already, Delgrosso has been on an absolute tear. Potsdam just couldn’t do anything to halt the Lakers momentum as Lexi Thompson scored the third and final goal of the game for the Lakers, putting the contest away. The Lakers outshot the Bears 17-6 putting on an offensive clinic. The Lakers look to keep the hot streak rolling as they travel to Geneseo to take on the nights in a SUNYAC matchup this Wednesday. Men’s Basketball keeps Winning Ways versus Buffalo State
OSWEGO, NY — Men’s Basketball continued pushed their winning streak to five Saturday evening as Oswego rolled through Buffalo State 86-66. The Lakers established an early lead due to freshman Jeremiah Sparks, who netted 16 first half points. Senior Joe Sullivan would finish with 18 points along with 13 rebounds to secure Oswego’s third conference win. This victory also pushes Head Coach Jason Leone into second place on the most wins list for the college. This win ties Oswego for second in the SUNYAC standings and 9-2 overall. The Lakers travel with Women’s Basketball this Tuesday to play New Paltz. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.

Men’s Hockey rolls through Roos
OSWEGO, NY — Men’s Hockey returned home Saturday night after taking a lost in Cortland the night before. Oswego welcomed in the Canton Roos into the Marano Campus Center as the Lakers are 11-0 all time against the Roos. Canton came into the game 9-5 overall as Oswego was 8-8. The Lakers would finish the 1st period with four goals as freshman Alex DiCarlo tallied a goal and 3 assists in the game as he buried the second Laker goal on the Powerplay. Senior Michael Gillespie also tallied four points in the win. Netminder Steven Kozikoski secured his first career colligate win as he recorded 19 saves after only allowing two goals in the game. The Lakers would come away with an 8-2 victory to stay undefeated against the Roos.
Oswego looks ahead to a road trip to the north country this coming weekend as the Lakers have two SUNYAC match ups. Plattsburgh will be the first task Friday night before traveling to Potsdam the following evening. Plattsburgh recently tied Geneseo on the road as the Cardinals sit at 3-4-2 in conference play. Potsdam sits directly below Plattsburgh as the Bears have a conference record of 3-7-1. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. in Plattsburgh Friday night.
