Men’s Basketball season tips off against Elmira

OSWEGO — The Oswego State men’s basketball team will begin there season this Friday Nov. 16 against Elmira at 7:30 p.m. The Lakers finished last season just a game over .500 with a (14-13) record. With there top two seniors in Ian Schupp and Jamir Ferebee gone, Tyler Pierre who averaged 10.4 points per game for the Lakers last year will look to only improve from there. They will have six freshmen on the squad as they look to get back the game they lost against Elmira last year by a score of 103-90.

Terra and Frascatore earn SUNYAC Recognition

OSWEGO — The State University of New York Athletic Conference has selected Oswego State Men’s goalie Brian Terra as defensive athlete of the week and Miranda Frascatore as its women’s diver of the week. Terra had two penalty shot saves late in the game as the Lakers defeated Brockport by a score of 2-1. Frascatore placed first in the one-meter dive in Oneonta on Saturday with a score of 222.70 as also placing second in the three-meter dive.

Terra is selected as SUNYAC Defensive Player of Week

OSWEGO — The SUNYAC Conference has selected Oswego State Men’s Soccer team goalie Brian Terra as the Defensive Player of the Week. Terra finished with five saves as the Lakers snapped a 5-game losing streak to lift the Lakers to a 1-0 win over Potsdam last Saturday. This shutout would staple Terra’s second shutout of the season, with his first being against Utica College and his fourth overall. Terra and the Lakers return to the Turf at 4 p.m. on Friday as they host the Buff. St. on Oct. 12.
