SUNY Oswego hosts operation christmas child packing party

For the first time ever Samaritans Purse alongside WTOP-10, will be hosting operation christmas child packing party on campus.

The event used to be held off campus at the Oswego Alliance Church but this year it will be in the Marano Campus food court. The plan this year is to make it bigger and bring more students to the event.

Becky Horning, the Regional Center Coordinator, along side with Kalie Hudson, Manager of Public Relations for WTOP-10 TV plan to pack 750 boxes at the event this year.

“Once you pack a few, you’re hooked,” regional center coordinator Becky Horning said. “It’s so much fun to imagine the smiling kids opening these packages, who otherwise may not have anything for Christmas”.

Clubs are encouraged to bring their members with them to this event. Food, prizes and music will be provided by volunteers and WNYO. An ugly sweater contest will take place as well.

Toy donations are not required but may be sent to Becky Horning, located in 228 Hewitt.

The event will take place on Sunday November 9th, in Marano Campus Center food court at 1 p.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. The event is free.
