The Studio is a one camera comedy show that shows what really happens behind the scenes at WTOP-10. It features a quirky cast of characters just trying to get by and do their jobs. The show will star a different cast each week and follow them through a night of productions.
The Special Olympics New York Central Region is hosting their third annual Polar Plunge in Wrights Landing, Oswego.
The event will take place on March 28, and involves participants jumping into the lake at Wrights Landing regardless of the weather conditions of the time.
By registering, participants will have the opportunity to raise money for the athletes of the Special Olympics, and those who raise $100 or more receive a Polar Plunge Sweatshirt.

The Oswego Women’s Basketball team took on Bay Path today for Third place in the Max Ziel Tournament. The Lakers were looking to make a statement after losing to D’Youville by six points yesterday, and boy did they ever as the Lakers were too fast and tall for the Wildcats as they picked up their first win of the season 88-to-51.
In the first half alone got to the charity strike 29 times. Capitalizing 16 times from the line, the Lakers made more free-throw’s then the Wildcats shot. Oswego The Lakers relied heavily on the run-and-gun offense. As soon as Oswego won a loose ball or got a rebound, they made a quick transition to the other side and while the Wildcats were trying to set up their defense, Oswego would find a player for a high percentage shot. This was pretty much the story of the game With all of this said, The lakers had a 20 point lead over Bay Path by half time, 46 to 26.
Oswego was the perfect example of sharing the sugar and effective passing. Top performances for Oswego came from Alison Nunziato, with 19 points 6 rebounds 3 assists 3 blocks and 2 steals, and Rachel Windhausen, with 16 points 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. On top of these individual performances, 8 Lakers recorded 4 rebounds or more in this game.
Oswego next plays Tuesday at Clarkson.
For the first time ever Samaritans Purse alongside WTOP-10, will be hosting operation christmas child packing party on campus.
The event used to be held off campus at the Oswego Alliance Church but this year it will be in the Marano Campus food court. The plan this year is to make it bigger and bring more students to the event.
Becky Horning, the Regional Center Coordinator, along side with Kalie Hudson, Manager of Public Relations for WTOP-10 TV plan to pack 750 boxes at the event this year.
“Once you pack a few, you’re hooked,” regional center coordinator Becky Horning said. “It’s so much fun to imagine the smiling kids opening these packages, who otherwise may not have anything for Christmas”.
Clubs are encouraged to bring their members with them to this event. Food, prizes and music will be provided by volunteers and WNYO. An ugly sweater contest will take place as well.
Toy donations are not required but may be sent to Becky Horning, located in 228 Hewitt.
The event will take place on Sunday November 9th, in Marano Campus Center food court at 1 p.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. The event is free.
Despite a slow start, the Oswego women’s lacrosse team rallied back to defeat Elmira College 12-9. With the nonconference win, the Lakers move to 11 and 5 on the season while the Soaring Eagles drop to 5 and 10.
The Lakers will have the opportunity to tie the record for most wins while also fighting for a spot in the SUNYAC Championship at 12 p.m. on Saturday when it plays at Oneonta in the final game of the regular season.
The Baldwinsville Baseball team just wrapped up a successful trip to Florida, winning all four games. The Bees were back home today for practice as they prepare for an intense stretch of the season.

The Oswego State men’s baseball team continued their recent success this past week with a series win against Oneonta. The Lakers also won the season series against nationally ranked Cortland after splitting a doubleheader with the Red Dragons on Monday. Senior Tim Smith was named SUNYAC Baseball Player of the Week after batting .529 with seven RBIs while junior Brandyn Karinchak was named SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week after striking out 13 batters over 9 shutout innings against Oneonta. The Lakers will look to stay hot as they travel to Fredonia this weekend for a three game series with the Blue Devils.
The Oswego Men’s hockey team had their best offensive showing of the season with a 7-3 win over Elmira Saturday, November 16.
The freshman line of Matt Galati, Kenny Neil and Alex Botten were key players in the victory. In the first period Kenny Neil opened the scoring on a powerplay goal. After an Elmira goal from Jarrryd ten Vaanholt, Mike Montagna the transfer from Vermont and Fulton, NY native scored his first goal of the season at 14:54 in the first.
The first period scoring continued for the Lakers as Brandon Adams and Matt Galati both found the back of the net for a four-goal first period.
The Lakers managed 41 shots on Elmira goalie Sal Magliocco.
Oswego goalie Justin Gilbert stood tall in net with 24 saves.
The Lakers are back in action 7 p.m. Friday in Geneseo for a crucial SUNYAC contest.
