Nikki Greco and Nick Giampaolo Earn SUNYAC Athlete of The Week Awards
The SUNYAC has released its weekly awards and two Oswego State student athletes have been honored for their accomplishments. Nikki Greco has been named the Women’s lacrosse goalie of the week for the second straight week. The back to back win award comes off a 1-2 record this week by the Senior who started with a 11 save performance in the 13-6 victory over went onto to have two great games in defeat with 11 saves vs Geneseo and 9 against nationally ranked Brockport. Greco and the Womens lacrosse team return to action Tuesday at New Paltz.On the men’s side Nick Giampaolo earned the Men’s Lacrosse player of the week. The Lakers went 2-1 this week including two games with 20 plus goals. The Junior had 3 goals and 1 assist in the 20-11 win vs Elmira last Monday, then 4 goals and 1 assist in the 21-6 victory against Canton on Wednesday and then finally finishing up with 3 goals and 1 assist in Oswego’s 10-9 loss at Geneseo on Saturday. Giampaolo leads the team in goals with 26 and points with 34. The Men are back on the field Wednesday to host Potsdam in their final home game of the season.~ Matthew Moran
