OSWEGO N.Y- The Oswego Women’s Field Hockey team took on the University of Rochester Yellow Jackets in a non-conference contest Tuesday evening and were shutout 2-0. Both goals happened early in the first quarter when Rochester’sAnya Arseneau scored directly 1 minute into game and almost 3 minutes later Maeve Fogarty scored the second and final goal of the game. The Lakers tried to play catch up for the rest of the game and in the second quarter Oswego put on the pressure putting multiple shots on goal and earning two penalty corners to finish the half.

The third quarter started with two yellow cards for the Lakers just five minutes in and the defense held the Yellow Jackets to nothing while fighting off the two and five minute penalties. But the Lakers couldn’t fight their way back as the Yellow Jackets got back into rhythm in the fourth quarter holding possession for the majority of it. Rochester ended the contest with a 19-4 shots advantage on the Lakers and also had 7 penalty corners to the Lakers 3. Scheblein finished the contest with 12 saves on 14 shots faced in the contest marking 27 saves in the last two contests for the Oswego senior goalkeeper.

Oswego will now head on the road for a SUNYAC matchup against the New Paltz Hawks. This game is set to start at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 24.
