
OSWEGO, NY — Men’s Hockey returned home Saturday night after taking a lost in Cortland the night before. Oswego welcomed in the Canton Roos into the Marano Campus Center as the Lakers are 11-0 all time against the Roos. Canton came into the game 9-5 overall as Oswego was 8-8. The Lakers would finish the 1st period with four goals as freshman Alex DiCarlo tallied a goal and 3 assists in the game as he buried the second Laker goal on the Powerplay. Senior Michael Gillespie also tallied four points in the win. Netminder Steven Kozikoski secured his first career colligate win as he recorded 19 saves after only allowing two goals in the game. The Lakers would come away with an 8-2 victory to stay undefeated against the Roos.
Oswego looks ahead to a road trip to the north country this coming weekend as the Lakers have two SUNYAC match ups. Plattsburgh will be the first task Friday night before traveling to Potsdam the following evening. Plattsburgh recently tied Geneseo on the road as the Cardinals sit at 3-4-2 in conference play. Potsdam sits directly below Plattsburgh as the Bears have a conference record of 3-7-1. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. in Plattsburgh Friday night.
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The boys went to work Tuesday in a battle against St. John Fisher. Ultimately the Lakers were more hungry for the win and came out on top. They had the momentum early on and were able to maintain this momentum throughout the game. The Lakers went up by four runs after sophomore Jacob Levine hit one out of the park resulting in a three run homer. Levine had himself a day with a homer and four RBI’s. St. John Fisher would score six unanswered runs in two innings, ultimately taking a one run lead going into the bottom of the seventh. The Lakers were not going to let off the gas however as they answered right back with two runs after Lukas Olsson scored a two run homer to give the Lakers the momentum. Another three runs sealed the deal for the Lakers as they walked out with an 10-8 victory. The Lakers go on the road Friday to take on Fredonia in their final regular season series. The first matchup begins at 3:00pm.
