OSWEGO, N.Y. — The #22 ranked Oswego State Baseball team finished the 2021 regular season victorious as they defeated Plattsburgh State in consecutive games on Sunday. The Lakers now move to 21-3 on the season and will look ahead towards their best-of-three semifinals matchup versus SUNY Oneonta.

Oswego was dominant in both contests, defeating the Cardinals 16-2 in game one and 13-3 in game two. The Lakers had 20 hits in the first game, led by Paul Tammaro and Dylan Frawley who each had three. Junior outfielder, Tim Shinto, had a great performance as he totaled 4 RBIs off 2 hits. Anthony Van Fossen also finished his season 4-0 after shutting out the Cardinals in five innings. Game two ended in similar fashion with Brendon Frank, Kyle Lauria, and Myles Felton combining for 7 hits in their final regular season game. Junior pitcher, Kieran Finnegan, finished his season 5-0 following his 4-inning performance. With Sunday’s victories, the Lakers improve their win streak vs the Cardinals to 15-0 dating back to 2014. Prior to the pair of games, the Oswego State Baseball team recognized ten seniors including Mike Di Salvo, Jake Terrill, Jonathan Luppens, Hunter Holliday, Ronald Loomis, Connor Stanton, Myles Felton, Kyle Lauria, Brendon Frank, and Dylan Frawley.

Oswego had previously locked up the #1 seed in the SUNYAC West division and will now set their focus on their upcoming playoff matchup versus Oneonta. The teams last played in a May 6th doubleheader resulting in a 19-5 Laker win and a 5-2 Red Dragon win. The best-of-three series is set for Saturday, May 15th starting at noon. The second game is scheduled for 3 p.m. an if necessary, game three will be played on Sunday at noon.
