OSWEGO, NY — Women’s Basketball started off the double header in the Max Ziel Gymnasium this afternoon with a SUNYAC match up against Fredonia. The Blue Devils would come away with the victory for their first conference win of the season. The Lakers lost 52-71 even though senior Sydni Eure led the team with 5 field goals on 13 opportunities. Senior Quincey Zimmerman finished with 10 rebounds and 2 three pointers on six tries. The Lakers get back on the court tomorrow at 2 p.m. for another SUNYAC match up against Buffalo State. The Bengals just dropped their conference game against Cortland 71-84.

Oswego State women’s lacrosse suffers big loss against SUNY Geneseo
OSWEGO N.Y. — It was a rough Wednesday evening for the Lakers as they couldn’t get anything to click on Laker Turf Stadium. The Lakers took on a very good Geneseo team and at the end of the day, simply got outplayed. With the score after the first quarter being seven to two, the chances for a Laker comeback already looked slim. Oswego’s star players Sela Wiley and Shae McConnell were not able to get anything going in this contest, with McConnell only coming out with one goal and Wiley being scoreless on the day. Sophomore Isabella Lembo was able to shine in this contest with two goals out of the six that were scored. This made her the lead scorer on the night. Men’s Lacrosse wins season opener against Hartwick
OSWEGO, NY — Men’s Lacrosse kicked off their season this past Sunday at home against Hartwick. The game that got moved from Saturday to Sunday due to weather featured a Laker win with a final score of 10-9. The Lakers took an early lead in the first quarter as Oswego was up 3-1 after the first 15 minutes of play. The Lakers would keep that lead the rest of the game as the team would score two or more goals every quarter to finish off the Hawks. The non-conference win was led by Kyle Bacon as the senior tallied five goals in the game. Senior Dan Doolan also had two goals and one assist in the victory. Netminder Kyle O’Donnell would save 24 shots and hold a .727 save percentage in between the pipes for Oswego.
Men’s Lacrosse will go on the road this Wednesday to face off against Alfred State for another non-conference game. Last year, the Lakers defeated the Saxons in Alfred 11-7 which ended their four game losing streak against Alfred. The Lakers will return home on March 14th to face off against St. John Fisher at 3 p.m. at Laker Stadium.

Oswego Swimming and Diving drops first meet of 2019-2020 Season
OSWEGO — Laker Swim and Dive teams faced off against the RIT Tigers in a meet Wednesday night. The match up, at Laker Pool, saw both Men’s and Women’s dropping their first meet of the 2019-2020 season. Senior Walker Snowden would be a standout for Oswego State with three victories over the span of the night. With two individual event wins going into the 200-yard free relay, Snowden would get his third win alongside Laker teammates as they would finish a second before the Tigers. The teams look to rebound with another home meet this Saturday against SUNY Oneonta at 1 p.m.
