OSWEGO, N.Y. — Oswego Baseball plays their first home games of the season in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, April 8th at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Lakers offense went off with 35 runs on Tuesday against New Paltz, and now have their eyes set on Alfred State for the doubleheader on Thursday.

Oswego comes in at 3-1, they split a doubleheader at Brockport Saturday, April 3rd and then looked dominant in the doubleheader at New Paltz on Tuesday, April 6th in which they won games 24-12, and 11-3. The Lakers got contributions from just about every hitter in their order. Paul Tammaro was 5-7 with 3 RBIs and a double, Connor Stanton was also 5-7 with 2 doubles and 6 runs in the doubleheader. A pair of freshmen also shined as Jacob Levine was 3-9 with 2 home runs to bring his season total to 3, to go along with 5 runs and 6 RBIs on the day. Jai Sharma threw all 6 innings of game two in which he allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and struck out 8 batters. Some other Laker bats to look out for include Ryan Enos who carries a .500 average, to go with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs on the four game season, and Myles Felton who is batting .300 with 6 RBIs and 3 doubles. These players need to continue their solid performances if the Lakers would like to continue their win streak.

Alfred State is 7-9 coming into Thursday’s doubleheader, the Pioneers had a six game win streak which was snapped in game two of a doubleheader at University of Rochester on Wednesday, April 7th. The doubleheader at Oswego on Thursday will be the second doubleheader in as many days for the Pioneers. Matteo Avalone comes in batting .346, with 5 doubles, a triple, a home run, and 5 RBIs, and Justin LoTemple carries a .326 average to go with his team leading 3 home runs and 12 RBIs. 

Oswego looks to keep their hot bats rolling into Thursday, and Alfred State will look to start another win streak. Lakers take on the Pioneers Thursday, April 8th for a 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., doubleheader at the baseball diamond. No spectators will be present so fans can check out all the action on WTOP 10.
