On the verge of the Lakers biggest game of the season, Oswego handled Potsdam in the Campus Center Arena with a 7-1 victory.
The freshman carried the team early when Matt Galati scored his team leading seventh goal of the season. Assisting on the goal were fellow freshman Dylan Smith and junior captain Bobby Gertsakis. Shawn Hulshof scored two goals later in the first period both on power-plays.
Potsdam got on the board in the second when Mike Arnold scored at 7:12 in the second period.
Oswego tacked on four more goals in the game with Stephen Johnson, Dylan Smith, Alex Botten and David Titanic tallying goals.

Women’s hockey player Jacquelin White named ECAC West Rookie of the Week

Jacquelin White of the Oswego State Women’s Hockey team has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Women’s West Rookie of the Week for the second time this year. The first time she earned the award was three weeks ago.
White is a big reason the Lakers find themselves at 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The freshman has scored a point in every game thus far, giving her a six game point streak to start her college career. This past weekend, White had two goals and one assist against Cortland.
The Lakers will return to the ice this weekend and head to North Country to take on the reigning Division Three National Champions, the Plattsburgh Cardinals. The Lakers and Cardinals face off at 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Rokerthon 3

Oswego, NY- Today meteorologist Al Roker (‘76) will be returning to his alma mater to break a world record. Oswego State will be the last stop on “Rokerthon 3” and Today’s “Storming Into the Madness” college tour.
Roker will be returning to campus to break the Guinness World Record for the longest conga line on ice.
The current record is 353 skaters, held by the Ice Rink Canary Wharf in the United Kingdom. They have been holding this record since 2013.
Oswego State is looking for more than 400 students to help break this record. It will be broadcasted live on Today on Mar. 31. Participants are asked to arrive at the Marano Campus Center arena by five a.m.
