Women’s Basketball Get Back in the Win Column
BUFFALO, NY – The Lakers after losing their first game of the season yesterday got back in the win column taking down Buffalo State 73-66. The Lakers didn’t trail at once during the game.
The Lakers started out the game on a hot streak as they made three straight three-pointers to lead 9-6 where Buffalo State would also hit two three-pointers in a row as well. Karleigh Leo would hit two of those three-pointers with the other from Logan Castiglione. The Lakers hit four three-pointers in total in the first quarter with the fourth coming from Shania Iglesias. Oswego would shoot 44.4% from the field compared to the Bengals 35.00%. The Lakers would lead 26-18 at the end of the first quarter.
The Lakers momentum only continued in the second quarter where they would lead 41-30 at the half. The Lakers managed to put up a respectable 41.2% from the field and 42.9% from the three-point range. The Lakers managed to add two more three-pointers in the second quarter as Logan Castiglione hit her second of the game and Peyton Daeffler made her first three-pointer of the season.
Diamond Pickett scored the first points of the second half to extend the Lakers lead to 13. Castiglione would add her third three-pointer of the game to extend the Lakers lead to 46-32 with 7:49 left in the third quarter. The Lakers struggled from the field in the quarter as they shot 18.18% in the third. The Lakers led 54-45 at the end of the third quarter.

OSWEGO, NY- The Lakers played a tough-fought game against the Brockport Golden Eagles but unfortunately fell short 75-60. The first quarter was a defensive battle where the Lakers were able to force missed shots from the Golden Eagles. The Lakers also missed plenty of layups and shots during the first quarter as well. Karleigh Leo would lead the Lakers in points after one quarter with five points. The score was tied at 12 at the end of the first quarter.


OSWEGO, NY- The Lakers extended their winning streak to seven after defeating the Fredonia Blue Devils 76-66. Throughout most of the game, it was a back-and-forth battle between the Blue Devils and the Lakers before the Lakers pulled away in the fourth quarter.
OSWEGO, NY- Once again the Women’s Basketball team keeps their winning streak rolling at 6-0. The Lakers defeated Alfred University 65-57 on Tuesday. The 6-0 start is their best start to a season since the 2004-05 season where they started an impressive 11-0.

OSWEGO, NY – Women’s Basketball continues to impress early on in the 2022-23 season as they won the 2022 Max Ziel Tournament and stay undefeated at 3-0. The Lakers got the tournament started by taking down the Keystone College Giants 86-84 in OT.
OSWEGO, N.Y. – It was a great way for the lakers to get back on track this weekend as they added two big SUNYAC victories to their record. The Lakers first faced the Mustangs in Morrisville where it was almost all Lakers from start to finish. After a scoreless first period for the Lakers Ashlyn Mcgrath scored two minutes into the second period. The lakers kept heavy pressure throughout the second period outshooting the Mustings 25-13. Mia Conboy tacked on another Lakers goal in the second scoring her first of the season. Morrisville was able to score at the end of the second but it was too late as the lakers momentum was not going to be stopped. In the third period sophomore Ashlyn Mcgrath scored her fourth goal of the season and second of the contest for the Lakers. A late goal by Mack Hull sealed the 4-1 win for the Lakers. The Mustangs had a chance at redemption the following day.
